The step after onboarding that nobody owns

Conversion often dies on the first permission or wallet screen after a cheerful onboarding, because no squad claims that interstitial.

Onboarding teams measure “completed tutorial”. Growth teams measure “first purchase”. Between those events sits a screen that asks for notifications, location, or a default wallet. In several Kuala Lumpur readouts, that interstitial had no product owner in the room.

The conversion funnel then looks mysterious. Counts fall, and each squad points at the other. A review that names the interstitial as its own step — with a person attached — is dull and unusually effective.

If your event dictionary jumps from onboarding_done to checkout_started, print the screens in between. Someone designed them. Someone should sit with the drop-off.
