The quiet drop between bag and payment on Malaysian wallet lists
Commerce funnels in Malaysia often leak on the wallet list itself — order, language wrapping, and last-used methods — not at the bank.
Board charts like to blame “payment failure”. On several grocery and retail paths we have mapped, the steep loss is earlier: the list of wallets. Seven logos, random order, card option below the fold on smaller Android devices, Malay labels that wrap under the price.
People open the sheet to check a voucher, then gesture back. If your event checkout_started fires when the sheet opens, the funnel will call that intent. It is not intent to pay.
A conversion funnel review that stops at “payment” will miss this. Name the sheet as its own step. Watch recordings in Malay. Pin last-used methods. Those are unglamorous instructions, and they are usually the ones that match the thumbs.
